Chairman J&K Grameen Bank inaugurates M/s Sharma Katha Industry

Janak Raj Angural, Chairman, J&K Grameen Bank, being the chief guest inaugurated M/s Sharma Katha Industry—a unit to engage in production of Katha commonly used in various medicines as well as Paan, located at village Chak Desa Choudharian, Tehsil Marhen in district Kathua. The unit is financed for Rs 3.38 crores by branch office Haripur More, J&K Grameen Bank.

Chairman said that the bank expects a fruitful journey ahead with the business unit which is owned by Nek Ram Sharma. He said that the Bank should be pro-active in providing credit facilities to the budding entrepreneurs that will aid development and financial prosperity of the state.He also said that the Bank has tremendously progressed in providing digital services to its esteemed clientele. The Bank presently provides digital services like SMS banking, IMPS, NEFT, RTGS, RUPAY cards and Direct Benefit Transfer, etc. to promote digital banking and move towards the less cash economy.

Ajay Bharti, HOD FIID, JKGB said that J&K Grameen Bank in addition to its primary business of banking has also forayed into insurance sector through tie-ups with insurance partners like LIC, Bajaj General and Religare Health. He further said that various social security schemes like APY, PMSBY, PMJJBY and PMJDY accounts are available in the Bank. As such, he urged the gathering to enjoy their benefits and spread awareness among their peers.

Regional Manager, Kathua-Samba, J&K Grameen Bank, Amit Laira appealed that bank’s lucrative financing schemes should be promoted among our state populace, the details of which are easily available at Bank’s revamped website www.jkgb.in.
