J&K Grameen Bank Conducts 174 Financial Literacy Programmes
Micro Finance &Financial Inclusion Department, J&K Grameen Bank as per the guidelines of RBI under the Chairmanship of Sh. RK Chhibber conducted 174 Financial Literacy programmes on August 18,2017 across the state to widespread the financial literacy and digital banking. These programmes are being conducted by the rural branches .The motto of the financial literacy week is to bridge up the gap between the rural unbanked masses and banking by increasing the customer awareness. These Camps were conducted across the thirteen districts of the state. Out of which, 96 Camps were conducted in Jammu Region including the districts Jammu, Kathua, Samba, Kishtwar, Rajouri and Poonch whereas 78 Camps were Conducted in Kashmir Region covering the districts Baramulla, Bandipora, Kupwara, Srinagar and Ganderbal. The main areas of focus are primarily KYC, Exercising Credit Discipline, Grievance Redressal & Going digital (*99# & UPI). The customers are educated by the various aids like charts, pamphlets & videos etc. The masses are also demonstrated about technological innovations in banking industry including NEFT/RTGS, online banking,IMPS , SMS banking, Rupay Card, Aadhaar Enabled Payment System & Direct Benefit Transfer etc to promote the digital banking and move towards the less – cash economy.
